25th United Nations
International Peace Day

Youth Speakers Captivated Crowd with their wisdom and vision.

Once again LWIN delivered an outstanding Interfaith event.  Luz Van Meek and Margot Emergy deserve cudos for their organization and creativity.  Over 60 people filled the seats at St. Andrews Episcopal Church Saturday night, September 21 for an evening highlighting the voices of peace from our future leaders who are driving change in their local communities.  Two high school students and one college freshman showed us that the younger generation will change the world.

Their panel discussion was followed by a tribute to Archbishop Oscar Romero in a moving monologue by Victor Vazquez. His acting talent was underscored by Clarissa Vieira on Cello and Michael Polara on percussion.
The evening was capped off by a beautiful candle-lit meditation led by Buddhist Minister Maya Malay.  The program was followed by sweets and fruit and the opportunity for the community to socialize.

LWIN president, David Hall, gave an impassioned speech for peace.  Read it here.
